Course Description

Effective leadership and team management are essential for achieving organisational success in today’s dynamic and collaborative work environments. This unit introduces learners to the key principles, skills and strategies required to lead individuals and teams effectively.

The course begins by exploring the concept of leadership, including different leadership styles and approaches, and how these influence team performance and organisational outcomes. Learners will examine the characteristics of effective leaders and the importance of self-awareness, emotional intelligence and communication.

The unit then focuses on team dynamics, including how teams are formed, developed and managed. Learners will explore strategies for motivating team members, managing conflict and fostering collaboration and trust within diverse teams.

The course also examines decision-making, delegation and performance management, highlighting how leaders can support individual and team development while achieving organisational goals.

The unit concludes with an exploration of leadership in practice, including adapting leadership styles to different situations and leading change within organisations.

Throughout the course, learners will develop practical skills to lead with confidence, manage teams effectively and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
